Palm Treo Pro
The Treo Pro, Palm's second new device of 2008, is a breath of fresh air to those who have used previous versions of the Treo. Its sleeker measurements make it easier to carry, and its elegant black design looks great at the theater or your next important business meeting.

Useful News: Communication Suite Released, and New Softmaker Beta Available!

A couple of notable news updates flashed across the inbox that I thought I should share. VITO has released an updated version of it's application bundle titled Communication Suite (Winterface 2.04, FunContact 3.01, SMS-Chat 1.25 and ZoomBoard 2.04).

Thanks, Microsoft!

This is a bit off topic, so bear with me. I upgraded my Windows Vista laptop to Windows 7 a couple of weeks ago. This is an important machine to me. I do most of my blogging, and reviewing on it. It’s a dual-boot (using WUBI), which loads through the Windows boot manager, and I was worried about screwing up my boot sequence and losing my Ubuntu configuration along with hosing Vista.

More HD2 Videos & Reviews; Windows Marketplace News
The HTC HD2 continues to dominate the Windows Mobile buzz. And for good reason. This week I’ll point you to more videos showing the device and its interface, as well as in-depth reviews. And I’ll briefly note news related to Windows Marketplace.

MS Marketplace also available via browser

With the latest release of official 6.5-based phones came Microsoft's app store, but you needed to initially have a phone to check out the Marketplace. Now you can browse WinMo apps from the Marketplace using your PC browser. You can't actually download anything directly here though (like cabs), which is a bit of a disappointment. You can check out the expanding MS app store here...

HTC HD2 Officially Announced
Wow, just when I thought I’d had enough of the HD2, it dominated the Windows Mobile websites this past week. The big news was that HTC officially announced that it’ll be coming to the U.S. in the first quarter of 2010. Also, some pretty spectacular videos were posted, as well as some great reviews.

HTC Leading the Way with Touch HD2; Daylight Savings Time Patch
I’ve already covered the HD2 quite a bit, even though it isn’t out yet. The news is that it’s going to be officially announced November 4. Plus, coinciding with this is a new push from HTC to become a consumer brand. Which is good, because the company is leading the way in hardware and in developing a touch interface for Windows Mobile devices. This week we’ll cover HTC’s higher profile and new device, as well as note the release of a free Daylight Savings Time patch.

HTC Pure Final Review

The Pure is a solid, full-featured Windows Mobile phone, and I give it a hearty recommendation for existing WinMo tech freaks like myself. If I wasn’t locked into a service at work, I would likely get one. My wife wanted to keep it (her original Razr is finally dying), but I sadly had to pack it up and send it back. I was very happy with the speed and responsiveness of the Pure, and definitely like the few interface upgrades in 6.5.

This week I’ll also point you to an overview of some of the new Windows Mobile 6.5 devices that are out, as well as reviews of the AT&T HTC Pure and Verizon Imagio. Plus, I'll point you to an interesting opinion piece about whether Microsoft is falling behind in the mobile arena.
