Don't copy installers directly to your Pocket PC
I recently bought a Cingular 8125 Pocket PC Phone Edition device. When I try to install third-party software on it, I get a message telling me that it is not a valid Pocket PC application. I tried installing Skype Mobile and My Last Cigarette 2007 and it still gives me the same message. I've seen other Cingular 8125s running those programs. What do I have to do to install these programs?

It sounds like you are downloading the programs to your PC, copying them to your Pocket PC, and trying to run them. When you download a third-party program, you are normally downloading an "installer" file that is designed to be run on the PC and will automatically install the necessary components on the Pocket PC. Make sure your Pocket PC is connected to your PC and then run these installers on your PC.

Thanks! That was the problem. I ran the .exe file from my PC and the program was installed.

Can't move PIM database files to storage cards
I have a Cingular 8525 Phone Edition device running Windows Mobile 5. Is there any way to move PIM.vol files (the database files for Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, etc.) to a storage card?
Rhussain
Sorry, but the answer is NO; you cannot move PIM.vol files to a storage card. However, there are third-party PIMs that will store their databases on a storage card.
