The security threats to the Pocket PC or Windows Mobile 2003 (I will use the terms interchangeably) are very real. You should assess these threats prior to deployment. I recommend that you use the list below to create a risk assessment check so you can manage your security risk when deploying Pocket PCs. As an example, the United States Navy’s Pocket PC risk assessment is available at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/ISSEC/Form/AccredForms/acc_Part2_Pocket_Pc.html. It addresses, machine by machine, how the Pocket PC will be used in the Navy and what risk there is to the information it contains.
