It's Halo 3 Launch Day! Let's gear-up our Windows Mobile devices!

So, you've probably heard that there's a little game called Halo 3 that came out today. In fact, if you're a die-hard fanboy like myself, you might have been at your local game store yesterday at midnight to pick up your copy. Even if you couldn't venture out into the dark of night, you can still equip yourself with all the latest and greatest gear for your Windows Mobile device that will show off what a big fan you are of this Xbox juggernaut.

The Windows Mobile team has created a mini-site of Halo 3 content available for your Pocket PC. The site content includes an MP3 ringtone and four images (see picture below) that can be used as wallpaper on your Windows Mobile device. The site even includes instructions on how to change your wallpaper on the Pocket PC or Smartphone.

Microsoft has a set of four graphics that can be used as a background on your Windows Mobile device.

The Xbox web team has also launched a Mobile site, which you can view with Pocket Internet Explorer (see screenshot, below) which offers a Halo 3 themed ringtone, the four graphics and offers access to mobile news and RSS feeds.

Xbox.com now offers a mobile version of their web site that looks great in Pocket IE and allows you to download mobile content directly to your handheld.

Tips: The desktop web site requires you to sign-in in order to download the ringtone and wallpapers, but the mobile site does not. So if you're weary about releasing your personal inforamtion to Microsoft, you might try visiting the mobile site (link below) using Pocket Internet Explorer. Also, when I wrote this article, the ringtones on the mobile and desktop sites were different, so you might want to check them both out.
