Pocket LOOX N560

I lost interest in Fujitsu as a maker of Pocket PCs years ago after I got fed up with my LOOX 600. Support for the device in the U.S. was nil. It was also plagued by some issues (dusty screen, button lag) that even a first-gen device really shouldn't have considering how late the company got into the Pocket PC space. However, the rumored (let me emphasize that these are just rumored) specs of an alleged upcoming device from them caught my eye.

To wit:

The Pocket Loox N560
256 MB ROM/64 MB RAM
624 Mhz processor
VGA
GPS
BT and 802.11g WiFi
USB Host
2700g GPU/VGA out
February 2006 release date

What got my attention was, in addition to everything else, the "VGA out" part. I know the Axim X50 already has this, but it's nice to see the option won't just be limited to devices like the Dell. I'm also glad to see the 2700g making an appearance in another device. I'm guessing that even if the specs are correct, this device will never officially be released in the United States (and I don't recommend buying one from Expansys), but it will interesting to see if having all these features is really viable in terms of compatibility and battery life. I really hope the industry adopts the 2700g in higher-end devices fairly quickly over the next year or so. To have quality games and really make the most of high-resolution displays, you need 3D acceleration as well.
