HTC HD2 In-Depth Review, AT&T iPAQ Glisten, Freebies
Am posting a short column this week, since news is a bit light due to the holidays. I’ll point you to a couple reviews and freebies.
Jason Dunn Reviews the HTC HD2
Jason Dunn was one of the first Windows Mobile enthusiasts, launching his Pocket PC Thoughts website about 10 years ago. He’s been in the business long enough to become jaded, yet his response to the HTC Touch HD2 is nothing less than “Yowzers!â€
He’s posted a “Deep Dive Software Walk-Through†that gives you a thorough, two-part video review of the finger-friendly HTC Sense interface. He’s also posted a two-part unboxing and impressions video review.
As we’ve noted many times before, the HD2 is a powerful device with an impressive 4.3-inch screen.
Review of AT&T iPAQ Glisten
WMExperts has posted a review of the iPAQ Glisten from AT&T. Although the trend is toward iPhone-like touch devices such as HD2, the iPAQ Glisten hews to the also-popular Blackberry-like form factor with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard. The in-depth review includes pictures, and the reviewer concludes that he likes this device. He first had reservations about the AMOLED screen, but grew to like it, especially how it retained a clear image outdoors.
The device is $179 after rebates and with a two-year contract.
A Couple Great Freebies
Fusion Voicemail Plus is a tool for managing voicemail. You can also use it to receive faxes on your phone. It’s currently a free download on Microsoft’s Total Access website.
Slide2Unlock2 is a popular screen unlocking app that’s just like the one on the iPhone. It includes a CallerID function.
