HTC Touch Diamond/Pro coming from Sprint, Verizon
Rumors are about that Verizon and Sprint will be offering the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro. Plus, there’s a great video on YouTube of the amazing Touch Pro interface. This week we’ll also note a few reviews of the new HP iPAQ 910 and leaked information about the Treo 850.
HTC Touch Diamond/Pro Coming
If you have any interest at all in the new trend toward the touch interface spurred by iPhone and now appearing in some great Windows Mobile devices, do take a look at this HTC Touch Pro demo video on YouTube. The interface is just stunning. I’ve been using an iPod Touch lately (similar to the iPhone), and I have to admit that in a number of ways the HTC Touch interface compares favorably.
And the good news is that the Touch Diamond/Pro devices may be coming to Sprint and Verizon very soon. PhoneArena.com cites rumors that that Sprint will offer the Pro at the beginning of September and the Diamond a month later. And speculation is that Sprint will have 30 days of exclusivity and that Verizon’s models will come out some time after that.
The site is reporting that Sprint will call the HTC Diamond the HTC Victor and the Pro will be called the HTC Herman. Remember that the Pro is basically the same as the Diamond but with a slideout keyboard (which, of course, makes it thicker). It also has microSD support, a camera flash, and a higher-capacity battery.
Verizon’s models will supposedly be named the HTC Diamond and HTC Raphael.
In addition to the video noted above, Tracy and Matt’s Blog has a video of an “unboxing” of the device, and Engadget has a gallery of photos (along with hundreds of comments from site visitors).

The forthcoming Treo 850 is now rumored to be called the Treo Pro. Pocket PC Thoughts has posted info inadvertently leaked by Palm that gives quite a bit of detail and a number of images.
