GROUNDBREAKING HTC Trinity / TyTN news: SuperCID bypasser is finally out!

It was just some minutes ago that I've announced the availability of the brand new, GPS-enabled Dopod ROM for the HTC Trinity and I already have some great news for you all Trinity AND TyTN (Hermes) users:

XDA-Developers user Des has just released a tool that makes it possible to install any kind of ROM on your HTC Trinity AND TyTN phones (that is, a SuperCID checking bypasser). This means you don't need to waste $38 on the expensive and, in cases, unsafe IMEI-Check services.

See THIS XDA-DEV THREAD for more information / download links / user reports.

I'll install the new Dopod ROM on my HTC Trinity and post my opinions on how smooth the installation procedure was and how the GPS works. This is what I've been waiting for some weeks - this hack makes the Trinity probably the best converged device available now!

UPDATE (02/13/2007): in the meantime, well-known XDA-Developers guru "pof" has released a fully-fledged unlock tool for both models. Please see the related TyTN and Trinity threads. Again, note that if you do unlock the CID, you will most probably lose your warranty. On the contrary, if you use Des' tool (which does not unlock the CID, "just" makes it possible to install any ROM on your TyTN / Trinity) introduced above , this won't be an issue. That is, think twice (and ask for the warranty issues with your particular dealer) before using the unlocker.
