Kingston SD cards - are they really slow? What about they and NoteM?

Q: I've heard Kingston SD cards are horrible when used with the MP3 recorder application NoteM. Is it true? A: To a certain degree, yes: using NoteM with Kingston cards caused a lot of problems to me too before I've found out that these cards MUST be optimized to be used in medium/high NoteM quality modes. They, if not optimized, are indeed horrible to be used with the, in this respect, very sensitive NoteM, because of the internal, not changeable buffering algorithm NoteM uses. However, if you optimize the Kingston cards, they in fact become pretty usable and offer very much for their price. Please read this article on optimizing storage cards, with a lot of references to NoteM.
