Which is the faster file system: FAT16 or FAT32?

Q: Which is the faster file system: FAT16 or FAT32? What should I format my storage card(s) to? A: It can't be stated which of the two file systems is better, performance-wise, without benchmarking the particular card first. Please read this thread on this question.
