Much as Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE) in the PPC2k2 operating system is supposed to support WAP, in practice, this support isn't sufficient for most of today's Wap pages. An example of PIE's not being able to render a Wap page (mobile.globeandmail.com): Click for screenshot It's only PIE under newer operating systems, starting with WM2003, that has really good WAP support and can, therefore, render almost all WAP pages you throw them at. An example: Click for screenshot This means you'll need a separate WAP browser; for example, EZWap, to be able to access all WAP pages. Unfortunately, its original page ( http://www.mobykit.com/ ), linked from here, no longer works. Therefore, you'll need to get the app from, say, Handango. Note that you shouldn't get version 2.5 because it's meant for Phone Edition devices only (and is much more expensive & has no trial version). Version 2.1 is what you need. Unfortunately, if you install the trial version on your device, it'll say Trial period expired when you start it. If you, however, set the clock of your PDA back to at most 2004, it'll work. (Note that this is not any kind of cracking – the authors of the program may not have imagined they woulnd't release another trial version before the end of 2004.) Then, you'll only need to bring up the address bar (View/Address bar) and enter the Wap site address (for example, mobile.globeandmail.com) in there. The result will be most satisfying: Click for screenshot Another alternative is WinWap (current version: 1.3), which is still a living project with an accessible developer. It's not particularly cheap either, but, if you plan to visit Wap pages often, it may be worth its price. Install it, start it and you can start surfing the We... It must be manually enabled in Tools/Browser Setting/Misc, by checking in the Enable text/vnd, wap, wml checkbox as can be seen in this screenshot. Then, Wap pages also become browsable.- Werner Ruotsalainen's blog
