Fallout clone Back to USSR 002beta out – now, with WM5 support and English conversations / main menu!
A few days ago, I’ve reported on the first public beta of maskin’s great Fallout port Fallout: Back to USSR. He has just released the long-promised upgrade, sporting both WM5 compliance and English conversations.

The main menu has also been translated into English as can be seen in here.
Unfortunately, the char / map buttons are not supported – now, a “Function not supported” is shown.
Please also see the contents of the “docs” directory – it has all the info you need on the new quests, bugfixes etc.
Availability, installation, compatibility
Get the game here and the English conversations here. Unzip the contents of the “Maps_eng” directory of the latter into the “Maps” directory of the former, making sure you overwrite all the original files. Then, just execute FalloutPPC.exe.
If you also need to run the game on a WM5 device, make sure you uncompress FalloutPPC_wm5.zip (it's in Fallout_002.zip) and overwrite the original FalloutPPC.exe with the one in the ZIP file.
I haven’t had any problems on my WM2003 iPAQ 2210, WM2003SE VGA PL720 and WM5 Dell Axim x51v A12 (the latter means it doesn't have problems with 2700G-based devices). On the other hand, while it does start on my PPC2k2 (it's also said to be Pocket PC 2002 compatible) Compaq iPAQ 3660, after the splash screen, it just exits with an Fatal Application Error. It doesn't run on the WM5-upgraded (version 2.01) HP iPAQ hx4700 either - the game crashes at start.
