FINALLY: Widcomm / Broadcom Bluetooth stack working on the HTC Hermes / TyTN!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285419

A few days ago, I've announced the port being started. Now, I have some great news for you all HTC Hermes / TyTN users: the Bluetooth stack is working great on the device, offering a great number of new possibilities (much better and more compatible A2DP, BT PAN etc.) Read this XDA-Developers thread for more information.

Under Comm Manager I am only able to select Hands Free for use with my Blueant X3. Is there a hack to allow the check box for the Headset to be enabled as well so i can listen to Mp3s and use the it with Skype. (yes i know the quality is bad.. anyone have a clue?)

So, do you think someone can figure out how to implement this hack on the apache/ppc6700/xv6700? I've had zero luck trying to find out what BT chip is used in the UTStarcom ppc6700. If it was the same Texas Instruments chip as the axim/hermes/wizard uses then the hack could probably be ported with minor pointer changes but if it's a totally different chip then someone would need to do the indepth work, of talking to the chip, as the axim hack developers did.

Just found out what chip is used in the 6700.....
TI BRF6150(czsl1R)...YES... It looks like it's the same chip.
Found it in this document

Guess I'm going to play guinea pig ;-)

Trying to hack a BT stack on a device won't brick it, hardware-wise. The worst you may end up having to do is a hard reset - but, in my practice, not even that was necessary.

I have installed the Hermes hack and it worked. Stereo sound is much better now with no distortion. I am having issues with 1 millisecond skips a few times in every song. I have tried all your suggestions along with forum suggestions about baudrate, block size, subband size and line speed. To aleviate any skipping I have to go down to 192 KBps for Line speed and block size of 8, and at that point the quality suffers. I'll next try using the bitspersample values. I've seen in the BT developers software documents mention of MTU type settings. I wonder if these could be relevant and are included in the custom dll's from this Widcomm BT hack?

it is really good for play
