Q: How do I hide the annoying Wi-Fi/modem Connection "bubbles"? A: it's very easy. Go to Settings/Sounds & Notifications, go to the Notifications tab; in the Event drop-down list, choose Connection established: click here for screenshot Here, just disable (uncheck) the Display message on screen checkbox. This way, you will see the Wi-Fi / Connectivity icons on the taskbar, but there will be no annoying bubbles informing you about available Wi-Fi Access Points or what the Connectivity unit is doing while dialing into a location. If you plan to do this from the Registry, put 0 (instead of the default 8) in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{8ddf46e7-56ed-4750-9e58-afc6ce486d03}\Options].

Too bad there wasn't a short cut created in the connections tab of the settings screen.

Added some additional info on the hackability of the "Connection disconnected" event.
