Sunnysoft Contacts (see previous review here) 1.3 brings one-handed goodness to your windows mobile phone, and some display customizations. You hate the stylus, don't you? That's why you want to go run out and get an iPhone like all the other sheeple. Well don't do it just yet. In Contacts, stuff doesn't fly around the screen, rotate, shrink/expand or accelerate, but this update does add some nifty and smart features none-the-less...
Sunnysoft Contacts is really an enhancement application for your built-in Windows Mobile Contacts. You don't have to reload all your contacts, or any such nonesense. You simply install it, and set it as your default contact manager (you can change this back to the native WM PIM manager in "options" later, if you want). Sunnysoft adds a dial-pad and some spiffy skins to the main contacts interface. The dial-pad is smart, and you know this if you've used one, or your phone has a similar app already (you can probably stop reading this if that's the case). The dial-pad filters your contacts as you enter numbers (based on the letters on each dialer button), and makes dialing a breeze. Anyhoo, if you read the previous review, you know all this about Contacts already. So let's focus on what they added and enhanced in V1.3...
The coolest additions are several options to really tweakify the interface, with added ETEN Glofish and HTC Touch skins. You can also change the appearance of several aspects of the main display, like removing the ugly obnoxious scrollbar on the right, and changing the text and dial-pad sizes. You can also modify the actions of the buttons that now appear along the button of the dialer.
One of my favorite features is the history feature (now that it does more than just show the history), which will organize your message history in one convenient screen. Simply tap the buttons along the bottom to move back/forth between call, and text-based message histories (SMS, MMS, E-Mail). Selecting details will take you to the message that is highlighted. So if you want to quickly reply to an e-mail message, you can do so by tapping details or double-tapping the message, and WM Messaging will open it (then you can simply use "reply" in mail). Sunnysoft has now also added an option to quickly query exchange server contacts in the pop-up menu (right soft-key), and also supports 8 different languages. Shoot, I can't even speak one very well--don't comment on that! Just walk away...
Okay, so you wanna know where to try or buy, eh...see what I did there? OK, not so clever, maybe. Contacts is available for $14.95. Go check it out! The other drivers will thank you for not using your stylus while driving to work. On second thought, just put the phone away completely..
