Free Streaming TVApp, Celio Redfly, Samsung Omnia II

Amazing how we’ve come to expect so much more from our phones now, including streaming video. TheChanner is a free app that gives you access to over 300 streaming TV channels. This week we’ll also note a freebie that gives you an iPhone-like unlock screen, a review of the Celio Redfly (which turns your phone into a laptop), and an early review of the Omnia II.

REVIEW: a brand new call recorder application, FoneWatch

A company pretty new to Windows Mobile development, MobileTimes, has just released a new call recorder application, “FoneWatch”. It’s available HERE for $10. (There’s a demo with restricted playback capabilities.)

Spb TV Review

 

Spb TV is a recently released application by Spb Software--a well-done IPTV viewer for tuning in publicly available worldwide channels. This app will work for the global traveler on the go, looking for a quick fix of TV news, sports, and variety shows, but will be a bit of a letdown for anyone thinking to replace a real TV service.

I’ve been told it’s impossible to play back, say, UK-based LBC on Windows Mobile, while, for example, the iPhone already has a client for this station.

YouTube release their own YouTube client for Windows Mobile

There have been several YouTube players for Windows Mobile, two of them being, in my opinion, the best: the commercial, but highly recommended CorePlayer (which, with the recent, 1.3.0 upgrade, has fixed almost all the problems I’ve talked about in my dedicated all-in-one bible) and the free FlashVideoBundle.

Update to the H.264 bible; tips and tricks to desktop-based H.264 playback, video editing and stream capturing

Following is an update to my H.264 bible. Sorry for having to post it as a separate post; the original post has grown over the 64 kbyte limit and, consequently, I just couldn’t shoehorned the update to it. Hence the need to devote (more specifically, start) a new article to the question.
