Well, if you really plan to get a new PDA, why don't you get a WM5 Pocket PC instead? The PL720 won't receive the WM5 upgrade and its (kinda) successor, the F-S N560, is definitely better in almost every respect (except for the lack of the CF slot and the 64M RAM).

Of course, if you plan to sell your hx4700 and only plan to keep the PL720, then, I can recommend the PL720 for now and the near future (say, 6 months) before all/most WM5 incompatibilites are fixed. (There're many: for example, it's impossible to run Toonel under WM5.) If you plan to keep your hx4700, I'd seriously go with a WM5 device and wait for the N560 so that you can have two really decent devices, one of them having the latest OS.

It seems Fujitsu-Siemens hasn't learnt its lesson (they could have made the PL720 a much bigger success by selling it in the US too) and they won't officially sell their new Pocket PC's in the U.S. This may change though â€“ I still don't know if they, seeing the immense European success of the Loox 720, plan to officially distribute their new models in the U.S.
