Because, as has also been pointed out in the article, it's not compatible with all Pocket PC's. The situation is the same with, say, the HTC Wizard.

Unfortunately, XCPUScalar is known for such problems. I don't really recommend it. Either run your device at 208 MHz (settable in the Processor applet) or use, say, a media player (if you plan to play MP3's only, where 208 MHz is well enough) that has built-in downclock capabilities; for example, 40iPlay.

You want to mail the author of the app - he's pretty active in the linked forum.

Is the field strong where you use your phone? While the xv6600 had a very bad battery life, the xv6700 seems to be better (see for example this review). That is, I think your battery problems are related to the very weak field strength. Under such circumstances, phones will consume much more power.

I also recommend this forum - hope you'll find some related threads there.

Well, let me disagree as far as key information is concerned: for example, the info on infrared power consumption, over/underclocking, Wi-Fi P2P power consumption are IMHO key information.

BTW, you're right in that a much shorter summary of this stuff may be needed - I'll add it some time.
