 <description>&lt;p&gt;Nope, a simple power down (suspend) will suffice. It makes sure the Registry is flushed back from the RAM to the flash ROM. That is, you don&#039;t need to wait at all.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;BTW, very few apps require a soft reset after installing - mostly ones that install some kind of a driver (for example, the Widcomm Bluetooth stack for the Dell Axim x51 series; the ThinkOutside drivers etc) or is a Today plug-in. I&#039;d say 99% of the apps/games available don&#039;t require a reset.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I&#039;d say it all depends. There&#039;re some WM2003(SE) models (mostly MS Smartphones) already utilizing persistent storage to store their stuff. Some other devices like the iPAQ 2210 or the Pocket Loox 720 (both store all their stuff in RAM, where no synchronization with the storage ROM is necessary) don&#039;t require any kind of &quot;safe&quot; resetting. (At least this is my experience. I&#039;ve reghacked these two devices numerous times and, then, promptly reset them with the reset hole. Have never lost any changes.)&lt;/p&gt;
