Yes, the e-mail headers are still there (they are stored in the main storage, in the WindowsCE databases) - the bodies aren't. If you've done the registry hack in the right way (did you check \Windows\Messaging to see whether the mail bodies are still there?), then, the mail bodies MUST be on the card.

Nope, just move them to the new directory with a simple file moving operation.

Please note that this only applies to ActiveSync-synced mail. If you also have mails in \Windows\Messages downloaded by Messaging (straight from your POP3/IMAP account), you shouldn't relocate them as the above hack "only" relocates ActiveSync-synced mail.

If you do have locla POP3/IMAP accounts and you want to keep them, you may want to read my older, WinCE mailer DB-related articles which explain how the file names are created. If you find out the filename prefix ActiveSync-synced mail uses, you will be able to easily distinguish them from POP3/IMAP mail files.
