Nope, I haven't managed to test it, not having found my Betrayal at Antara CD's, which did have a cpy of Krondor too.

Other people & forum posts, however, stated it runs very slow, if at all (after all, it's a 3D 386+ game requiring 4M of RAM.)

Abhinav, I'm afraid I can't help you. I don't think it'd work: while PPC PE does have modem support, it's client support and not server (dial-in) support - that is, the server-side component (software) that listens to incoming calls and answers to them.

The, connectivity-wise, best DOS emulator, PocketDOS, to my knowledge, doesn't support emulating modems either in software. If, however, you have a hardware (for example, CF or Bluetooth) dial-up modem connected to your PDA, it, I think, works. (It DOES work in the opposite direction - see the "COM port emulation:" section at http://www.pocketdos.com/specifications.htm .)

Dario, did you mean PocketDOS by FreeDos? If yes, then, I can't help - PocketDOS has by far the best printing capabilities.

OK, I do understand you can't / don't have the time to remove all these links from the forum posts. I've removed the direct mention of VOGONS in this context.

Brian, I'd say (without actually trying it myself) all DOSBox ports are plain incompatible with MS Smartphones (the Dash is a Smartphone).

I'll thoroughly test this (too) on my S710 as soon as I get back to town.

Fantastic, fantastic post Werner! There are tons of fantastic old DOS games out there that can be played on WM devices. I hope the efforts to bring DOS emulation to the platform will continue. Thanks for your post.

Werner, I am not sure how aware you are, but this article will be of interest to long time customers of ours (we are Thaddeus Computing, Publisher of this site and magazine.)

In the 1990's we produced "The HP Palmtop Paper" about the HP DOS Palmtop 200LX. Archives of the issues are all up at www.palmtoppaper.com.

Even though HP stopped making the 200LX in 1999, we still have a business supporting users - buying, selling, repairing and accessorizing HP Palmtops. We continually get the question, how do I run my DOS software on a Windows Mobile machine. (I usually recommend PocketDOS as well as Syware for the 200LX db).

One other site of interest for those wanting DOS software: http://www.hp200lx.net/. This was a site of DOS software put together by HP Palmtop community.
