Nope, it seems it's not possible. However, if you do install Opera on the desktop, you can still go on using IEM - Opera on the desktop won't interfere in any way (unless, of course, you explicitly make it the default browser - don't do it).

Then, you can sync your bookmarks in the above-explained way between the desktop IE and OPera Mini than with manually editing the links on Opera's homepage (they're directly available for non-Opera users to access / edit, but the interface is a rudimentary HTML one without any support for mass operations and the like) direct from the desktop IE.

bob,

1, the Sprint Touch uses an old KVM. Get Jbed instead - it's really superior to the KVM originally coming with the Touch. It should work rock-solid: I've never encountered any freezes.

2. nothing is known about Deepfish. It seems the development is stalled / put on a hold.

Daniel, very easy.

1. make sure they're synced with your desktop IE via ActiveSync

2. start your Opera 9.5 (!) on your desktop and go to Bookmarks / Manage Bookmarks

3. right-clikc the right pane and select File / Import Internet Explorer Favorites

4. after the import, drag the contents of Mobile Favorites to the desktop Opera's Opera Mini folder (note that you can't move subfolders). This assumes that the desktop and the Mini OPeras are already synched.

5. after this, the new favorites will appear on the PDA.

Note that this is one-time synchorinization and not full, continuous. Should you need to do continuous syncing, get the third-party desktop Opera - IE synchronizers. This will still necessitate the manual copying between the "Opera Mini" and the "Mobile Favorites" folders in the desktop Opera, though. (But I'd prefer completely switching to Opera on the desktop too.)
