This is a great article. Not that you are bashing the iPhone directly (though it might appear to some) but rather you are discussing very valid points. Great job Tim.

I have been using an iPod Touch and do like it as a media player. I appreciate the touch interface.

I also agree with you on the limitations - the limitation that bothered me the most when I tried email, in an otherwise, very usable device is the soft keyboard, which I find almost unusable.

I take it the keyboard is why you wanted to use a stylus. Actually, the biggest ah-ha experience using the touch was that a touch screen is for touching. That is, a stylus is a much more awkward approach.
