PLEASE HELP

Thanks for so much detail - here are some special issues about deciding to update to a IPAQ 210 - hope you will answer to all ! Thanks

HX4700 vs. IPAQ 210 === WM6 and WM6.1

I bought an HX4700 a few years back but put it down because I was so frustrated at not being able to really close apps in WM2003SE: pressing the OK button did not close the app and this was both a privacy and a memory issue. I ended up buying a Psion Netnook Pro running CE.NET, where you can close apps and/or files much the same way you do on a PC. But of course, it is not as portable as a handheld PDA.

How are WM6 and WM6.1 handling this issue of closing apps?

To be more precise, it's down to the file level too, I need to be able to close specific files sometimes, while keeping the app runnig with some other files open; and of course, when closing the whole app itself, it should release its memory usage.

HX4700 vs. IPAQ 210 === INTERNAL Backup BATTERY

The internal backup battery on the HX4700 is really tiny, costly, and difficult to replace by yourself. How is it on the 210?

HX4700 vs. IPAQ 210 === USING SKYPE FOR WIFI VOICE CALLS

The HX4700 natively uses an old version of Skype with which you can do plain VOICE calls to landline phone #'s like you would on your PC (free within US and CA once you pay for the yearly subscription). On the other hand, newer PDA/mobile versions of Skype do not allow plain voice calls, using instead, other connection/protocol technology (which also offers optional IM, images and videos) and with those new versions, you have to pay connection fees for any kind of voice phone call.

Can a version of Skype made for PPC/WM/2003SE run on WM6/WM6.1?

This is really important for me because it saves so much money when you can make plain Skype VOICE calls for free at wifi hotspots. By Skype "voice" calls, I mean calling to landline/mobile phone #'s from your own Skype phone#, without using images, video, or chat, and NOT using skypename-to-skypename type of connection.

As an aside, how generally, is WM6 or WM6.1, backward-compatible with WM2003SE? I had bought a few adapters for my HX4700 (GPS, etc.) and would like to use them with iPAQ 210?

Thanks much

Ali, note that the WM6.1 upgrade for the hx4700 is flawless - unlike the WM5.

Yup, I own all the phones / handhelds in the pics. (Of course, I have some others too - several Casio Cassiopeias, a PL720 etc.)
