Yes, that is the screen I saw. However, when I clicked the 4.1 link (at least earlier today) 3.1 downloads. I tried it both from your link in the above comment, and from the opermini home page.

1. Go to the Programs / Java folder and run Java (or Jbed?). Then, Opera Mini will be listed in there.

(2. Are you absolutely sure you clicked the link I've given you? Do you see something like THIS?)

3. I've uploaded the JAR file for your convenience to HERE. Just click this link instead of navigating on Opera's site. It must work.

I followed your link and downloaded 3.1. Then I went to OperaMini site, followed the version 4.1 link, and I still got 3.1. (I guess they didn't correctly update it).

BTW - Once I exit 3.1, how do I access it again? That is, there is no icon in programs, and I don't see the directory where to run it.

You mean you had downloaded 3.1 only before following my 4.1 link?

BTW, the final 4.1 has just been released. The direct invocation script is stated not to work with it, unlike with previous 4.1 betas. I haven't tested this myself; as soon as I find out more, I post an update.

Werner, that's great. Somehow, I never stumbled on that link before when I tried Opera Mini. However, it's Opera Mini 3.1 that got downloaded!!!

Unfortunately, Windows Mobile has never had much emphasis on MIDlets, no matter how excellent some of these MIDlets are (games, productivity apps like Opera Mini etc.) Sun's not wanting to develop an official MIDlet manager for the platform and the plethora of third-party managers only worsened the situation.

All you need to do is going to http://mini.opera.com/?rel=4 with IEM and just click the Download Opera Mini! link (it's in Bold). Then, just keep clicking OK / Forward through the questions.

Werner, I am still confused. Admittedly, I did not spend much time, which I don't have, studying your tutorial in this new context. It is not clear to me what you mean by "deploy" and where I should start with the deployment. Given your enthusiasm for Opera Mini, I have made several attempts to install it in past. However, I don't understand why the Opera people, who have produced such a great product, don't make it obvious or at least clear how to install it, for Windows Mobile users like me who don't know how to install anything but CAB files and EXE's.

Hal, you also need to deploy Opera Mini; see section 1.1 HERE.

Werner, I must have misunderstood something. I installed the MortScript Cab file (a folder with text files shows up in Programs menu). Using PPC Total Commander I click on StartOperaMini.mscr and I get message: "Opera Mini does not appear to be installed".
