How can i stream my live images from my pc to ....

As has been pointed out above, you don't need to install anything on a WM2003 device to be able to receive WM streams. It will work out of the box.

is WM2003, called as pocket pc 2003 or windows mobile 2003.So i need to change my os wince3.0 to wince 4.2. I am really confused.
What i really know is that pocket pc 2002 is wince 3.0 and pocket pc 2003 is wince 4.2. so just getting an upgradtion of WM2003. So if i get wm2003 that means i am cahing my os from pcket pc 2002 to pocket pc 2003.

Is it so.

it is written on the pocket pc back end that it is ipaq H39000 series.
It has got wince 3.0 in it. ( so it is apocket pc 2002)> but can i use WM2003 for pocketpc 2002.I feel WM2003 is for pocket pc 2003.I dont know much Abt WM2003 and it capabilities..So will WM2003 work on pocket pc 2002 as it is uprgadtion for the software.I again tell you i Got H3900series(IPAQ) with wince3.0 in it.

The WM2003 upgrade greatly enhances your 39xx (again, is your PDA a 39xx series device?) WM2003 is an upgraded operating system, also available for the iPAQ 39xx series. It contains the WM9 compliant WMP too. It, among other things, has out-of-the-box streaming capabilities, unlike the one in PPC2k2. The latter, again, requires the WMP PIE plug-in to receive streams properly.

The WM2003 upgrade is available at HP.com for 30 US$. Again, I really recommend it - it not only contains a lot of updated apps/features, but also your device becomes MUCH faster after you install it.

So, you have a 39xx series PDA, and not a 36xx? You should have stated this before... This fact changes everything. Purchase the WM2003 upgrade, install it - in addition to the much greater speed and much more recent operating system, you will also get out-the-box working, WM9-compliant WMP that doesn't need additional tweaking when listening to/watching streamed multimedia contents.

Hello Sir,

As you had provided me another link to check. I first checked this lnk on my pc it worked fine.First i want to know one thing if i am opening explorer inpocket pc as i do on my pc and write the above link and did enter It by itself prompted the windows media player. but in case of pocket pc if i do the same at the internt explorer browser it gives error.

"There is no application associated with "mms://rj-wmt.gekimedia"Run the application first then open this file from with the application."

then i clicked on windows media player it showed me

"The license for this file cannot be found .Use windows meida player on yur pc to copy your file to your device again.If the problem persistes conayct the content provider." But when i click on Ok the windows media player opened up.

then i went to url entered the link you have provided me .wheni entered .the searching icom juz moved for awhile then it gave me again same error."windows media player cannot find the file , please check the proxy settings."

You can't download it legally. It's only the series 7 PWMP for PPC2k devices (and a minor 8.0 upgrade, which must be installed on top of an existing 8.0, so it won't help you) are online at microsoft.com. It's on the Pocket PC 2002 Upgrade CD released for 31xx/36xx series iPAQ's as an installable EXE file.

However, as I've pointed out, I seriously doubt it has problems. It's most probably the PIE WMP plug-in that, for some reason, doesn't work.

Incidentally, you could also give a try to mms://rj-wmt.gekimedia.net/rj28 (it's a Japanese radio station). I've found out while playing with the streaming software compatibility back in 2002 that PWMP is able to play this stream even without the PIE WMP plug-in. So, if it works for you too, then, everything is OK, it's just PIE WMP plug-in that isn't properly installed.

i now downlaoded the plugin in the main memory.but still the error is there .Can you tellme if i click on " USE HTTP proxy " then what address i need to enter .the address provided by windows encoder or my machine ip addresss. at present i am giving my machine ip address. port i am giving as 80. and rest i am keepin " internet Connection Speed " on Lan ( infact i tried and checked it on isdn and other also)
and for protocol i have clicked on all three.
I dont know hy is it showing this error. i am providing evryhting. the encoder series i am using is 9 series is it compatible with windows media palyer 8 . as my pocket pc media player is 8.0 and build 01003.
internet is working quiert fine.
Try to solve this problem of mine.

It is the main memory. With the plug-in installed, receiving WM streams should work. Did you reset your device after the install?

Also, try navigating in your Pocket Internet Explorer to the following URL:

http://www.yle.fi/peili/peili.asx

to see whether streaming works with existing streams through PIE.

(Note that it's a Finnish stream, not an English one.)

i have already executed it from desktop , now i have kept it in default directory. Still it is there. I tried to search this error in google got some posts but none of the replies. hey in setting when i clicck on network tab do i need to click on HTTP and provide the address.

OIC. Then, you may not have installed the WMP plug-in for PIE. Despite its name, it's not only needed for PIE. It's, unfortunately, not available any more at Microsoft. First, can you see 'normal' web pages on your PDA, in Pocket Internet Explorer, with the SAME settings?

It's the same for Pocket PC's because Pocket Windows Media Player in Pocket PC 2002+ devices is able to play streamed audio. Go to Tools/Open URL and enter the MMS stream address, as described above.

If you plan to use the PC that runs WME also for clients to connect to and not another PC, do NOT choose 'push to server'. Choose 'Pull from the Encoder' instead. Then, the clients will be able to connect to the PC running the WME using the following URL:

mms://<your machine name>:7007

If you clicked 'Find Free Port' to find a free port, you should use it instead of the 7007 above.

It all depends on what kind of picture stream you're speaking about.

If you meant a live video, then, probably Windows media Encoder (on the desktop PC) and Windows Media Player (on the PPC) is the only solution. It's, fortunately, very easy to set up, and is free.

For simple webcameras (with images refreshed rarely, at least in every 20-30 seconds), you can also use Pocket Internet Explorer, on the Web server put into a simple HTML pages.
