HEllo,
I have been using my HP Ipaq 4705 to back up photos from my vacation from an compact flash card to the SD card. The ipaq froze up on me and I was forced to do a soft reset and now it still says 720 mb in use, but there are no files listed in the directory that the photos were in. How can I recover my photos? I have over 1000 photos on the SD card from my vacation in China and fear the worst. Unfortunatly this problem occured the last day of my trip!
In order to Recover Images from SD card use the most powerful photo recovery software. One of the photo recovery software is Remo Recover (Windows) which is an assortment of data recovery components designed to recover deleted / lost files and folders, photos, RAW images, music & video files from crashed, re-partitioned, accidentally formatted partitions & drives. This Low cost data recovery software is worth the money spent if the information that needs recovering is worth it. It is more like an investment and could well save a business a lot more expense having to replace the old data.
Went to wal mart this morning and baught a Lexar multi card reader. Put the card in and was able to access my photos. It seems maybe 3 or 4 photos from the first day of my vacation were missing. Thanks again.

With the free chkdsk, if (possible) losing of filenames is no problem (because their names are irrelevant - they are just images without meaningful filenames, for example). If you have FAT32 on your card and you also need to restore file names, the commercial GetDataBack for FAT32 is the way to go.
