Turn your PocketPC into a USB mass storage device

Now there is software that will turn your PocketPC into a USB mass storage device! [:)] Check out Softick Card Export II

Switch USB mode from Active Sync to Card Export
Insert your Pocket PC into cradle or connect to USB cable
And after few seconds desktop drivers automatically mount cards as a logical disk!

Hi.
just downloaded this and it works great for me, but before I buy, can anyone help with my query. When converting DVD's to my pda it takes forever with Activesync, can I, and if so how convert movies and use softick software to down load the films faster to the sd storage card, is this possible or do I still have to go through Activesync, Please note I am new to this, but learn very quickly.

Cheers

Just take out the PDA from your cradle, switch to Mass Storage mode, take it back to the cradle. Then, your PC will recognize the new drive(s) as mass storage drives.

Via File Explorer or Total Commander (which do you prefer?) on the PC, you'll be able to upload your files on your SD card 5-7 times faster than through ActiveSync. Just copy the files to the new drives your desktop PC created ater you inserted your PDA back to the cradle.

Other have also encountered the same problem, along with Dell Axim x30 users - currently, these devices are not supported by Card Export II.The compatibility list is at the bottom ofhttp://www.softick.com/pocket-pc/cardexport2/ - it's constantly updated. However, community threads (I've linked them all from my article) may contain even more compatibility information.

Interesting, iPAQ hx4705 running Windows Mobile 2003 SE version 4.21.1088 (build 15045.2.6.0) works. [:)]

The links that Menneisyys posted works after the second or third try.

I think this is an excellent idea, I will download the trial version and play around with it.

Thanks for the information David
