Who's Got Settings for pocket pc -GPRS

Hi to all, does anyone have settings for pocket pc to gprs ??. I have a Ericcson T68i GPRS on board, I have the service with T-mobile and I am getting my e-mails on my phone ok through gprs, but I want to use the iPAQ pocket pc, CE Windows via the phones IR port. any suggestions would be good. I need the dial up number *99# I not sure if this is the correct number and I dont have any other information[:I] apart from the know how to programm.[:D]

T-Mobile GPRS Internet with your Sony Ericsson T610 and Hewlett Packard iPAQ 1945

Prerequisite

Please ensure that the GPRS service provider has enabled the sim card for the GPRS service.

Setting up the handset

1. On the handset, press the Menu joystick, scroll to Connect and press YES.

2. Scroll to Data comm. and press YES.

3. Highlight Data accounts and press YES.

4. Highlight Add account? and press Add.

5. Highlight GPRS data and press YES.

6. In the Name field, enter T-Mobile GPRS and press YES.

7. Highlight APN and press YES .

8. In the APN field, enter internet2.voicestream.com and press YES.

9. Scroll to User id and press YES .

10. Enter (a username is not required by T-Mobile, please leave this field blank) in the User id field and press YES.

11. Scroll to Password and press YES.

12. Enter (a password is not required by T-Mobile, please leave this field blank) in the Password field and press YES.

13. Scroll to Save? and press YES.

14. Highlight T-Mobile GPRS and press YES.

15. Take note of the CID number, as it will be referred to later in the guide.

16. Press NO five times to return to the main screen.

Setting up the modem

1. On the PDA, tap Start and then tap Settings.

2. Tap on the Connections tab.

3. Tap on the Connections icon.

4. Tap on Add a new modem connection.

5. Enter T-Mobile GPRS in the Enter a name for the connection field.

6. From the Select a modem drop down list, tap on Bluetooth Dialup Modem.

7. Tap on Next.

8. In the Enter number exactly as it should be dialed field, enter *99***X#, where X is the CID number noted in step 15 of Setting up the handset, and tap on Next.

9. Enter (a username is not required by T-Mobile, please leave this field blank) in the Username field.

10. Enter (a password is not required by T-Mobile, please leave this field blank) in the Password field.

11. Leave the Domain field clear.

12. Tap on Advanced.

13. Set Baud rate to 57600.

14. Untick Wait for dial tone before dialing.

15. Ensure that the Extra dial-string modem commands field is clear

16. Tap on ok.

17. Tap on Finish.

18. Tap on ok.

19. Close the Settings screen.

Pairing the devices

1. On the handset, press the Menu joystick in, scroll to the Connect icon and press YES.

2. Scroll to Bluetooth and press YES.

3. Scroll to Options and press YES .

4. Highlight Operation mode and press YES. Scroll to On and press YES.

5. Scroll to Phone name and press YES.

6. Highlight Edit and press YES .

7. Enter T-Mobile GPRS in the Phone name field and press YES.

8. Press NO once.

9. Scroll to Paired devices and press YES.

10. Highlight Add device and press YES.

11. Scroll to Phone accepts and press YES. If prompted, enter T-Mobile GPRS in the Phone name field and press YES.

12. On the PDA, tap on Start and then tap on Today .

13. Tap on the Bluetooth Manager icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

14. If Turn Bluetooth ON is displayed, tap on it otherwise ignore this step.

15. Tap on Start, then Bluetooth Manager.

16. Tap on Tools.

17. Tap on Paired devices.

18. Tap on the Add button.

19. Tap on the lookup icon next to the Device field.

20. Tap on T-Mobile GPRS.

21. Enter a four-digit passkey in the Passkey field, for example 1234 and tap ok.

22. On the handset, press YES when prompted Add to paired devices?

23. Enter passkey in the Passkey field. It should be the same as the Passkey entered on the PDA in step 21 and press YES.

24. Press YES to accept Name tag.

25. Press and hold NO to return to the main screen.

26. On the PDA, tap ok.

27. Close the Bluetooth Manager screen.

Setting up the connection

1. On the PDA, tap on Start, then Bluetooth Manager.

2. Tap on New.

3. Tap on Connect.

4. Tap on Connect to the Internet and tap on Next.

5. Tap on Connect via a dial-up device such as a cellular phone or a shared modem connected to a computer.

6. Tap on Next.

7. Tap in the Device field to select a device.

8. Tap on T-Mobile GPRS .

9. Ensure that Create a shortcut for this connection option is ticked.

10. Tap on Finish.

Making the connection

1. From the Select a connection to use list, tap T-Mobile GPRS and tap ok.

2. If prompted, enter (a username is not required by T-Mobile, please leave this field blank) in the User name field and enter (a password is not required by T-Mobile, please leave this field blank) in the Password field. Leave the Domain field clear and tap OK.

You will now be connected to the GPRS service

I am having the same problem. Already configured my ipaq 3970 to use with my ericsson T610 as a modem via bluetooth. Everything seems fine, but I can not open any site with PIE, not at all.

Any ideas??

Hi, I have Nokia 6610 and Hp 1910, GPRS is Connecting through IrDA Just fine, but I cant open any Site on my browser? i called my Mobile sevice Provided her Told me that my WIn CE 3.O needs Some files for data transfer and browsing. any One has a Clue??/

Just use the Connection Manager on the Pocket PC to use the IrDA modem and make sure your "dial location" has a single "g" to assure that no area code is added to the number. Once you get that going, you might want to get a Bluetooth card for your iPAQ so that you don't need to point the two IrDA ports at each other in order to connect the Pocket PC and the phone.
