Photo Attachment to Mail

I have a Ipaq 2410 I put photos in my Ipaq from my Phone via Bluetooth and the I want to send them by mail. No way to Attachment them! Help!
Also when you see a Photo on the Ipaq there is an option "send by mail" I do not know where it goes can't find the mail!

I'm the only one with this problem?

Have you tried resizing a picture? There may be a size issue in there. Reduce to 320x240 or 640x480

I will try with a lower resolution, and will let you know, the pictures I get in the IPAQ in general come from my Nokia 6630.

Strange. I've seen mysterious 'can't attach in Messaging' threads and problems; I'll look around for them.

In the meantime, you have other choices:
- use WebIS Mail
- use an image viewer/editor that has mail sending capabilities. Almost all of them are able to do so. You may want to check the 'E-mail: how does it integrate with WM's Inbox/Messaging? Is it able to send several images at once? Does it resize pictures?' row in the comparison chart at the end of my roundup of PPC image viewers/editors athttp://winmobiletech.com/PICVIEWERS/ .

I copy the file from the SD card to the main memory, the files are ok they open with the Viewer, they they do not attach, I get the message above! And like I said I took the SD and CF card out to avoid any conflic.

Strange. The file is there and no cards are in!

Strange. Did you try copying the files to the main memory, and adding them from there? Do the filenames contain any "fancy" (non-ASCII) character?

The file is there to "attach" when I do I get "Message" above, the file is in Ipaq file Storage, and I did remove SD and CF card to avoid conflicts, so I do not know why it does not Attach or get that message.

Do you have this problem?

I follow your reply, I have "My documents" on main,SD and CF cards.
With the Mail program I put a photo Ipaq file Storage (Type:HP Zone File) folder My documents. When I choose the Photo I get a Messege:Message attachments cannot be added. check to make sure correct storage card is on the device...... The photo is there I can see it with Ipaq Image Zone. I took out the SD and CF.
Where can I re-set or change the RooT directory... As you see I bees trying to solve this for sometime.

Note: This 3rd or 4rd Ipaq I used to send photo attch with out any problems with my previous 2210 its stop working, and with this 2410 I have never been able. I do no know if I have a conflic some where. I have the HP Photo SD Camera and program installed.

So, can you see the image files when you try to add them in Tools / Add Attachment?

"Edit/Add Attachment... "
Thats exactly whtat I do from the mail program, but when I go to the CF or SD (tools>add Attachment) the SD or the CF are not available!

Much as you can't explicitly navigate to the memory cards, their contents are still shown, with a restriction: only files from the root (or, \My Documents) and its direct subdirectories are shown, not files from deeper. This must be causing problems in your case too.

Incidentally, what's this (or, \My Documents) stuff, you may ask. If you have a \My Documents directory in the root directory of the card, then, only it and its direct descendants will be checked. If you, on the other hand, have no \My Documents directory in the root (and with an additional ignore_my_docs file in there), then, the files in the root directory and its direct subdirectory descendants will only be shown.

For example, if there is a subdirectory \A in the root (or, in \My Documents) of your card, its contents will be visible in Messaging; however, if this subdirectory contains a subdirectory (let's say B; the full path will then be \A\B), the contents of this additional subdirectory won't be visible.

How this can be helped? The eaiest solution is moving your files that you want to e-mail into a subdirectory scanned by Messaging – either in the RAM, under a \My Documents , or in either the root / any direct subdirectory of the card (if there is no a \My Documents on the card) or \My Documents or any of its direct subdirectory if there is.

Please let me know if this works.

Also I can open the Picture "Ipaq Image Zone" then "file">send>via email... goes no where!

You can actually attach photos as simple files to your outgoing mail, even in the built-in Messaging client. Just go to Edit/Add Attachment... (in pre-WM2003SE operating systems (checked on PPC2k2 and WM2003); in WM2003SE, it's Tools/Add Attachment...) while composing your mail and choose the image file you'd like to send.

Additionally, you can also send e-mail from most Pocket PC image viewers/editors (see the How does it integrate with WM's Inbox/Messaging section in the article.)
