Backup file unavailable

Because my IPAQ5555 volunteers a hard reset periodically, I backup faithfully. My backup file is too large for the IPAQ File Store, so I backup to the storage card, and also backup on the desktop with activesync. Problem is that the restore software on the device cannot find the backup file after a hard reset. It does not seem to recognize the storage card at all. Trying to restore on the desktop gets an error message about the backup file not being valid. Since this is a frequent and time consuming problem, I will appreciate any suggestions. jandgg

I have had two hard resets in the last two days, and the IPAQ backup is working well for me. Thanks for the help.

As far as Spb Clone is concerned, I also recommend the thread athttp://smartphonemag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18593

So, in iPAQ Backup, when you go to the Restore and click ..., the (by default) backup.pbf file can't be seen?
The solution to the problem is really easy: if your system sees the card, just go to it with the built-in File Explorer and when you see the backup file (it's in either the root of the card or in \My Document, depending on whether the latter is existing or not), just click it. iPAQ Backup will be started at once.

Have a look at SPB Clone Demo. So far this has not time expired and that is after a couple or more months. Of course you may buy the full version if you wish. I create an image as an exe file on my SD card every other day, and after a hard reset I am back up and running after just a few minutes. SPB tell me that the only difference between the demo and the full version is a notification that pops up every once in a while which says that this data has been restored from a demo version and please buy the full version....
Good luck.
Just incidentally, I am delighted to find somebody even older that me active in this forum!!!
