PocketMusic AAC Plugin

Has anyone tried to use PocketMind's AAC plugin and, if so, did it work? I have tried it and I get clicking or popping sounds like the songs were recorded from badly scratched records. I've contacted PocketMind and they are no help at all. They will neither confirm nor deny that there is a problem. I have sent them one of my AAC files, created with iTunes, and they say there is nothing wrong with my file, DUH! Their latest response was, "Probably those clicks are due to the incorrect settings of the equalizer. Try to disable the equalizer if it was enabled. If that helps, you may try to rearrange equalizer settings to eliminate clicks with enabled EQ." Whatever, I had already tried that and it made no difference. Interestingly, though, I have no problems with MP3 playback. Unfortunately, most of my music is encoded in the AAC format. If anyone is using it without this problem please reply. I will probably just have to look elsewhere for AAC playback.

You may want to give a try to the free (!) TCPMP with the AAC plug-in. TCPMP is much better than many commercial (!) multimedia players (I'll elabortate on this a bit later when I publish my Media Player Roundup.)
Note that AAC support for TCPMP is no longer offered on the official site. However, some sites like rarewares.org hosts the AAC plug-in (see the page athttp://www.rarewares.org/aac.html ). The PPC plug-in can be found athttp://www.rarewares.org/files/aac/tcpmp_aac_plugin.windows_mobile.0.66.zip . In addition to setting up TCPMP, make sure you also start aac.setup.0.66.exe in the ZIP file (or, transfer aac.ARM.CAB inside aac.cabs.0.66.zip to the PDA and install it there). After that, TCPMP will gain seamless AAC support.

This post just solved a LOT of problems for me and enabled me to watch a particular video podcast on my Treo 700w that I could not watch with Windows Media Player. Thanks!

Many Thanx to Menneisys...this sounds a nice forum....
As you mentioned I installed AAC plugin to TCPMP ver 0.72RC1 (on my Cingular 8525) & now it plays Audio but still there's no video while playing MP4. It says " Video Codec (AVC - aka H.264) NOT supported by the player...
Any clue? Thanx a million in advance.

I love TCPMP, I discovered it some time ago when I got my Motorola MPX200. Great phone, sometimes i miss it, the only drawback it had was the battery...
