"Unknown Sender Error"

I have an iPAQ with internet explorer, windows xp, wi fi built in. I can access my Earthnet account via webmail using wi fi, no problem. But when I try to SEND email, I get an "unknown sender error" message. I've tried calling HP and of course Earthlink support but I get nowhere, the most likely sounding piece of info is that it has something to do with internet explorer and I should try clearing cache and cookies. I did this with no result. All settings seem to be correct. I really need this function; in fact, it's why I bought the iPAQ. Any suggestions?

I went through the same drill, same results. I tried the freebie Opera Beta and Earthlink webmail worked like a charm. Seems that there is something in PIE that web mail doesn't like. This was with WM2003SE on an iPAQ 4700. I'm off PIE for good-too many incompatibilities-but still not sure which alternative web browser yet.

Mauibob, thanks for this info (not to mention confirming that there really is a problem despite what earthlink support tells me). I'm off to chek out Opera Beta and will let you know! appreciate your taking the time to share your observations.

Thanks for your invaluable information. I downloaded Opera Beta and after a certain amount of confusion it WORKED! I was able to send an email using webmail and my Earthlink account It does indeed seem that the problem was Pocket Internet Explorer. Remains to be seen how this will work out longterm but I'm v. happy with this outcome. Many thanks, again.
