I'm trying to connect my Garmin GPS unit to my PPC-5050, and use Microsoft Pocket Streets to view my current position. Within Pocket Streets, I am directed to use the "configure GPS receiver" option to enable connectivity between the two devices (I have the appropriate serial cables from Audiovox and Garmin, including a serial gender changer, to physically connect the devices). The "configure GPS receiver" screen prompts me to select an appropriate COM port to connect to the GPS device, and my choices are COM2, COM3, COM8 and COM9. None of these have worked, and I'm wondering if any of these COM ports are truly valid (where's COM1 ?). Is there a way to determine which COM port is being used by the serial connection on the PPC-5050?
