Hiya - I live in Hong Kong and use Mapking for autorouting using my PocketPC. Works great with full english voice prompts. I don't have the Beijing map, but they have one. Have a look here:
http://www2.mapking.com/en/MapKingDowloadPageEng2.htm
"MapKing 5 Beijing English version covers Beijing City center with detail maps inside fifth ring road, up to street level. The major land-marks and major towns in country side with road network. Over 19,000 km sq. of Beijing metropolitan has been covers included 18,600 POI (Point of interest and 2,800 named street). "
I think you're out of luck as far as Garmin goes. Fugawi sells some maps of China but I haven't seen them and I think they're just scanned military maps.
Good Luck,
Peter

Hello,
This may be a bit off the current topic of this thread but I have a question. It looks like I might be moving to China (Beijing) in the next few months and would like a street level (routing) GPS system to use while here. I currently have a Garmin GPSMAP 60C but can not find the software I need to get this feature, similar to City Select North America. Is there software out there for the 60C that can do this and if not is there another option like a pocket PC device that will accomplish this? Honestly, I am just looking for any solution. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and respond to this.

The GPS award-winning BEST Software has been CoPilot for the last two years:http://www.alk.com (They have one of the more slim and dash-blending (black) Bluetooth GPS receivers.) One of my favorite CF GPS receivers is the foldable HAiCOM fromhttp://www.buygpsnow.com The most hardware innovative combination CF receiver/Bluetooth GPS package is from Pharoshttp://www.pharosgps.com

Thanks for the info Shawna.
I had emailed Garmin with this question and they finally got back to
me today, and there GPS does not use NMEA output, so I wouldn't be able to use it with Fugawi.
So I am open to suggestions for street navigation software and hardware. I'm using Delorme Street
Atlas USA and my Garmin 12CX now.
Thanks

P.S. If you keep your CF slot open, you will be one of the very few people who can have the entire United States and more on a CF card (2-4 Gig) in your device. The United States (with POI --Points of Interest) is around a Gig in most GPS applications, but the U.S. often goes over the capacity of even a 1 Gig SD card just slightly.
With a high-capacity CF card you can always have it all! (And a substantial part of Europe or elsewhere too!) This saves you *tremendously* in mapping download time!

This CF GPS is not compatible with most Pocket PCs so it is not a very popular form factor anymore. Your HP Pocket PC is one of the rare ones that has a CF slot. You may want to have a Bluetooth GPS solution because the majority of devices have Bluetooth and your GPS will therefore will be much more compatible. I have several types of GPS for Pocket PCs, but I usually end up using Bluetooth. If you are still set on CF GPS, I have a couple recommendations for you including a "best of both worlds" (CF and Bluetooth) package. Just reply here and I will follow up with CF and/or Bluetooth GPS input.
