Assign pictures to your Contacts
Submitted Tuesday, January 8, 2008
Windows Mobile devices have the ability to assign a picture ID to your Contacts. Once you assign a picture to a contact, it will pop up on your screen when that contact calls you. After you have snapped a picture of the contact with your device (or saved one on it from another location), do the following:
Touch screen devices:
- Go to Start >Programs >Pictures & Videos.
- From the My Pictures folder, highlight the picture you want to assign to a contact.
- Tap Menu >Save to Contact.
- The Contacts list will open. Tap on the contact you want to assign the picture you selected to. The picture has now been assigned, and you are taken back to the My Pictures folder.
Non-touch screen devices:
- Go to Start >Pictures & Videos. (Note that on some smartphones, the My Pictures folder is located within another folder, such as My Stuff or something similar.)
- Highlight the desired picture and select Menu >Save to Contact (WM 6 devices: Menu >Set as >Caller ID).
- The Contacts list will open. Highlight and select the desired contact. The picture has now been assigned, and you are taken back to the My Pictures folder.

Assigning a picture to a contact will give you the feature of seeing an image along with the name of who’s calling you.
