Get a storage card and a backup utility

Some Windows Mobile devices come with a built-in backup utility, which allows you to back up all or part of your data as well as any of the programs you have installed on a storage card. This is a real plus when you’re traveling and particularly important to users of devices running Windows Mobile 5 or later versions of the OS because ActiveSync’s Backup/Restore feature is not available to those devices.
If your device does not have a built-in backup utility, you should purchase one from a third-party vendor and install it. Sprite Backup (spritesoftware.com) and SPB Backup (spbsoftwarehouse.com) are two good options.
