How to delete application icons manually

Use File Explorer (Smartphones: File Manager) to delete icons and other stray files that remain after uninstall process.
- How to use File Explorer or File Manager to locate files.
Here's how to do it:
ALWAYS follow one of the uninstall procedures described in this How-to Guide before attempting anything else. If for some reason the application icons remain after the uninstall process, you must use File Explorer or File Manager to delete them manually. Follow these steps:
Open File Explorer or File Manager and locate the application icons. They should be in one of the following file folders:
/My Device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games
/My Device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs
/My Device/Windows/Start Menu
A small image of the icon is displayed to the left of the name of the program. Tap and hold the name of the program next to the icon until the Edit menu pops up. Then tap "Delete." (Smartphones: Highlight the item and select Menu >File >Delete.)
CAUTION: Do not delete a shortcut for a built-in program such as Calendar or Contacts! If you do, you will not be able to run the program anymore.
You can delete application icons and other files manually using File Explorer on Pocket PCs (left) and File Manager on Smartphones (right).
